Blogging... what is it all about.

i know it's a bit outdated for me to discover the beauty of blogging. it was an unknown word for me before. i just happen to be introduced to it by friendster as i decided to be active again on my friendster account (and of course, web surfing). and from there i became curious what really is it all about that i keep on digging more in other people's blog files...

by definition, "a blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.

Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of most early blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.

The term "blog" is derived from "Web log." "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

The term blog is commonly acredited to the web-journal pioneer Travis Petler. He coined the term on his personal blog in early September of 1997 while studying at Brown University. His use of the word spread to other college campus' where other weblogs were present." - from wikipedia

now that i know what blogging is all about, i'm excited to try my capacity in writing my thoughts or views. it's funny having a diary before is one of your most treasured secret that you wouldn't dare to expose to anybody. but now, your private thoughts, personal views or comments, etc, are for the whole world to read & discover & share. that's the effect of technology on us. everything can now be done on-line, be it for payments, knowledge, researches, shopping, etc, etc... so, here i am, i 'm joining the cyber "craze." Not quite sure what am i to do with this blog but i will use it to update any family members or friends with what is going on with my life or what's inside my mind(if anyone actually reads it or not is another thing). for sure, this is a new challenge for me... a new hobby that will deprive me more of sleep...
