March...

a lot of events are happening for this month...

first, March is a celebration of International Women's Month. It is dedicated to international solidarity among women and in recognition of women's struggle for equality, their contributions, sacrifices, commitments and achievements in their respective countries.

here in our country, this celebration is a tribute to all filipino women who outdo themselves, as they strive to improve the lives of their loved ones. we should be proud of our women kababayans especially the ofw's or ocw's who struggled so hard in other countries for greener pasture just to build better future for their family even if it pains them so much to leave behind their loved ones... women clamor for equal treatment with men and it is visible this days that women play a very important role in our society. we have a woman president and in some fields or profession, women also dominate the top positions... men can't live without us. we can somehow do what they can do and in general, they can not survive without us by their side. as there's a saying that "behind every man's success lies a woman." so we should be proud that we belong to the feminine group and we are the better sex. here's a salute to all of us women in all walks of life who make the world more livable and meaningful... hooray!!!

second, March is also the graduation season when hundreds of thousand of students join the "march for March," when they go up stage to receive their diplomas as proof of their academic achievement. it is the culmination of what being a student is all about... from preschool, to gradeschool, highschool up to college (or to some, post graduate studies). it is the completion of the educational process... and to non-graduating students, it is a welcome treat for them to rest for awhile from school pressures as it marks the end of it.

third, March is also a Fire Prevention Month to arouse the public consciousness and impose awareness to people on the destruction of lives & properties caused by fire. since this month starts the summer season in our country, it is where the incidence of fire is the highest during the year...

March... marks the beginning of the summer escapades, a breather for students from their studies, the start of another episode in the lives for the graduates as they look for jobs or being hired, and time to reflect on our faith as christians in preparation for the holy week...
